Katharine Kelley, LEED AP
President and CEO
Katharine Kelley is a respected authority on real estate development and green building with nearly two decades of experience in urban infill mixed use and residential development. As a Director of Jamestown and President, CEO and co-founder of Green Street Properties, she directs Green Street’s sustainable development and green consulting operations. Kelley has supervised the development of more than $600 million of properties during more than 16 years of experience in the real estate development business.
Prior to Green Street, Katharine was Senior Vice President and one of three regional development officers at Post Properties, where she managed the development of 12 multifamily and mixed-use properties, comprising a total of over 4,000 multifamily units. In particular, she led the team that developed the flagship, $120 million Riverside by Post mixed-use development, which gained national recognition for product innovation. Prior to Post, Katharine worked with The Landmarks Group, where she developed and marketed 135,000 square feet of retail space for the $600 million Promenade mixed-use development in Midtown Atlanta.
Katharine is an Atlanta native and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina. She received a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard University. Katharine served for several years on the City of Atlanta Zoning Review Board and the UNC Johnston Honors Advisory Board. She currently serves on the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Congress for the New Urbanism, and as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Westminster School. Katharine is a member of the Urban Land Institute and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Walter Brown, LEED AP
Senior Vice President – Development and Environmental Affairs
Walter Brown is Senior Vice President of Development and Environmental Affairs for Green Street Properties. Building on almost 20 years of real estate and green building experience, Walter leads all environmental initiatives for Green Street and manages many of the company’s development and zoning responsibilities. Prior to Green Street, Walter was Senior Program Manager of the Southface Energy Institute, where he led key environmental initiatives such as founding the Sustainable Atlanta Roundtable, directing the Greenprints Sustainable Development conference, and helping found the Atlanta Regional Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. Prior to Southface, Walter worked for the State of Georgia for ten years, where he was responsible for the rehabilitation of over 5,000 homes for low to moderate-income residents. An Atlanta native, Walter earned a Bachelor of Science in Community Development from Georgia State University, with additional studies at Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia. A strong civic leader, Walter is the immediate past chair to the Georgia Solar Energy Association and formerly chaired the Moreland Corridor Task Force and the Renewable Energy Action League. He has recently served on the Boards of the Freedom Park Conservancy, the Atlantic Station Project “XL” Taskforce, the Community Housing Resource Center, and the Sustainable Atlanta Roundtable. Walter was also the founding Secretary of the Atlanta Regional Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. He is active in the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization (a past president) and is a former Chair of Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) “N”. Walter is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Bettie Gebara
Senior Vice President – Construction
Bettie Gebara is responsible for construction planning, oversight, project implementation and project management for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, and for implementing quality construction practices utilizing effective cost control methodologies. Prior to joining Jamestown in 2006, Bettie held senior positions at US Cost, Rosser International and Gleeds USA, excelling in roles that encompassed estimation, project controls, and new business development, and was heavily involved in governmental and municipal initiatives. A native Atlantan, Bettie graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction. She earned her Certified Cost Consultant accreditation in 2006. Bettie joined Jamestown in 2006 as Vice President of Construction, and worked integrally with the Acquisitions and Asset Management Departments. In 2011, Bettie joined the Green Street team to lead both companies’ construction activities.

Amy Merritt Swick, LEED AP
Senior Vice President – Development and Finance
Amy Swick is Senior Vice President of Development and Finance for Green Street Properties. An Atlanta native, Amy has more than 9 years of real estate development and finance experience. During her 5 years at Green Street, Amy’s role has included green consulting, development management, leadership of the company’s finance matters and assistance in business development. Prior to Green Street, Amy was a Development Manager with Citiline Development in Charlotte, NC. While at Citiline, Amy’s responsibilities included development management for the company’s projects in western North Carolina. Amy also worked as an analyst at JPMorgan in New York with specific focus on financial analysis and legal review of alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate. Amy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture and a Certificate in Finance from Princeton University and a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from MIT. Amy was involved with Atlanta’s Midtown Alliance in its creation of the 15th Street Plaza, midtown’s newest park. She is an active volunteer with the Urban Land Institute (ULI), serving on both its Technical Advisory Programs (TAP) Committee and its Young Leaders Group Steering Committee. Amy was recently honored by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the “Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars” in Atlanta. She is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and she is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Annie Evans
Vice President - Development
Vice President of Development Annie Evans leads Green Street Properties’ development effort for mixed-use development projects located in Atlanta and other East Coast cities. Annie also provides development consulting for additional projects in Atlanta and other cities within the Green Street portfolio. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Evans developed a strong multi-family background as a development associate for Atlanta-based Gables Residential, where she performed an integral role in all stages of development and construction of a number of luxury multi-family communities, including four EarthCraft and Energy Star certified projects. Evans is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the U.S. Green Building Council - Emerging Green Builders. Evans received a BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University, where she played varsity volleyball. She obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a dual concentration in Real Estate Finance and Sustainable Enterprise.

Jim Irwin
Vice President – Development
Jim Irwin is Vice President of Development and directs strategic market analysis, planning, financing and project development for sustainable and urban properties in the firm’s national portfolio. Prior to joining Green Street in 2010, Jim led market analysis, financial evaluation and operational execution of the development pipeline at The University Financing Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists educational and research institutions in expanding and building facilities and equipment. During his tenure as Manager of Development, he completed a $31 million bond financing to renovate the Georgia Tech Research Institute in Cobb County, Ga., working with preferred partners to select, contract and oversee design, construction and engineering components. Jim also managed project development and asset management for Atlanta-based Barry Real Estate Companies, with a primary focus on the FBI Regional Headquarters, a $55 million custom project in Minneapolis, Minn., and Harrison Square, a mixed-use development in Fort Wayne, Indiana, anchored by an 8,000 seat minor league baseball stadium.
Extending his professional background to serve the Atlanta community, Jim is involved with the Center for Regional Leadership Development at the Urban Land Institute, the Young Alumni Real Estate Advisory Board at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and the Board of Directors for Road Safe America.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College, where he played football for four years. After serving on the staff of several U.S. senators and congressmen, he received a Master in Business Administration with a concentration in real estate finance from Emory University.

Jodi Mansbach
Vice President – Development and Marketing
Jodi brings 15 years of dynamic marketing experience to Green Street Properties, where she focuses on expanding the company’s nationwide portfolio and promoting its sustainable development initiatives for urban, commercial and residential properties. Jodi began her career in marketing at Acoustiguide Corporation, the leading provider of audio programming for cultural and tourist sites worldwide, where she directed North American accounts such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, Denver Museum of Natural History and Graceland. Later, as vice president of WordOne, a boutique communications agency for nonprofits, Jodi led the firm’s business development and branding initiatives, including establishing the firm’s instrumental email marketing practice, in 2005. Jodi later led strategic marketing initiatives at global real estate services firm Jones Lang LaSalle, where she oversaw e-marketing, advertising, print and direct mail, internal communications, events and community relations for the Atlanta office and helped launch the firm’s national initiatives in corporate social responsibility.
Active in Atlanta’s nonprofit and philanthropic community, Jodi was recognized as one of ten young leaders by Outstanding Atlanta in 2001 and also received Gerald H. Cohen Community Development Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. She currently serves on the board of Repair the World, a national start-up nonprofit with the mission of creating a new platform for service learning.
Jodi received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Yale University and her Master of Arts in Art History from Northwestern University. She received her Master in City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Alix Rice, LEED AP
Vice President – Development
Alix Rice is Vice President of Development for Green Street Properties. She has more than 8 years of real estate development and legal experience. Alix's responsibilities at Green Street include green consulting and development management. Alix joined Green Street in 2004 after working for two years at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, where she was a corporate paralegal and specialized in the formation and development of private equity funds. Alix graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Conservancy, where she served as president of Generation Green, its young professionals group. Alix is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and she graduated from ULI Atlanta’s Center Leadership as a member of its inaugural class of 2010. Alix is a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), and she is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Mark Vogt
Vice President - Construction
Vice President of Construction in California, Mark Vogt brings exceptional experience in architecture, engineering, development, construction and finance, and has a proven history of successful risk management in all phases of the real estate life-cycle. As a strong technical practitioner and experienced executive, Mark has provided consulting services to investors, owners, managers, and lenders of commercial and residential real estate across the country since 1981. Prior to joining Green Street Properties in 2011, Mark founded Vogt Consulting, LLC. During his tenure he served as Vice President and National Manager of the Project Development discipline for iStar Financial Inc. where he directed the physical due diligence of new investments as well as the monitoring of development and construction loans. This involved over $10 billion of new debt and equity investments including over $5 billion of development and construction loans. Mark is a licensed Architect (CA) and certified Facilities Management Professional (FMP) as well as a member of the American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, International Facility Management Association and the Project Management Institute. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design and Certificate in Project Management from the University of California-Davis.

Frances Bohn
Construction Associate
Frances Bohn brings over five years of construction management to Green Street Properties, where she serves as Construction Associate working directly with asset management and providing support through various stages of each property. She leads the development and implementation of value-added projects on Green Street’s varied properties.
Frances joined Green Street Properties in May 2011 with a strong, unique background in construction site management and leadership. Frances previously specialized in the higher education real estate market during her five years as project manager at Hardin Construction Company in Atlanta, GA, completing projects for Georgia State University and Young Harris College.
As project manager, Frances was responsible for purchasing and awarding contracts, scheduling, expediting procurement, establishing on-site lines of authority for project planning, developing construction procedures, conducting progress meetings and pricing alternates and changes to the construction procedure. As part of her leadership role, Frances was instrumental in acquiring LEED Certification for the project jobsites.
Frances is a LEED Accredited Professional and is actively involved in her community, coaching soccer for her local YMCA and volunteering regularly for Habitat for Humanity and The Study Hall.
From the University of Florida, Frances received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Studies with a minor in Landscape Architecture as well as a Master of Science degree in Building Construction.

Hank Farmer
Project Analyst
Hank Farmer serves as a project analyst for Green Street Properties, performing financial modeling and feasibility analysis on both prospective and current development projects.
Before joining Green Street Properties in 2011, Hank was a real estate-fund associate in Morgan Stanley’s MSREF VII Global Fund, where his primary responsibilities included preparation of fund financial statements and investor statements, as well as tracking of fund investments. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he worked with clients throughout the Southeast as a Senior Audit Assistant in the real estate group of Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
Hank enjoys membership in ULI, Ducks Unlimited and the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and other outdoor activities.
Hank received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Georgia. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia and a Level III Chartered Financial Analyst candidate.

Assistant Development Manager
Matt Gainey serves as an assistant development manager for Green Street Properties, working with construction, abatement, and demolition companies at Ponce City Market. Prior to joining Green Street Properties in 2011, Matt was a finance and account manager for Wells Fargo in Savannah, Ga. His primary responsibilities included account maintenance, customer service relations, and community outreach. Matt is an active volunteer with the North Fulton Humane Society. He is currently completing his Bachelors of Business in Management from the University of Phoenix.

Leah Green
Business Development Assistant
Business Development Assistant Leah Green contributes more than a decade of industry experience to Green Street, managing new business initiatives, accounting and office management for the national green consulting and development team and its portfolio of sustainable urban properties. Leah joined the firm in 2010 after six years with GreenBuilt Homes, Inc., an environmentally friendly home builder, and is the former owner of the Atlanta real estate company Dragonfly Properties, LLC. Leah is an active community member and has volunteered with several local children’s organizations. She is a past president of United Affordable Housing and holds a real estate broker’s license in the state of Georgia. Leah graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
