History
Green Street was founded in 2001 by former Mindspring chairman Charles Brewer, former Post Properties executive Katharine Kelley and former Southface executive Walter Brown. The team quickly earned national acclaim for its environmental leadership and innovative development of the $150 million Glenwood Park neighborhood in Atlanta.
Following Brewer’s 2006 sale of Green Street to Kelley, Brown and Amy Swick, the company continued to gain recognition for its development work. In 2008, Green Street was acquired by Jamestown, an international real estate investment and management firm that has acquired over $7 billion in US real estate. Today, Green Street works as the sustainable development company on many of Jamestown’s investments as well as its own projects.
Green Street launched its green consulting line of business in early 2009, building on its years of experience in the development of sustainable commercial and residential properties. Now, with offices in Atlanta and New York, Green Street performs green consulting and development services for a diverse range of properties, from high-density office, retail and residential properties to mixed-use, master-planned communities.
